Community Service Project: Book Drive For Elementary School Kids - Oct. 20-Nov. 15

A Book Could Save A Life
This is a literacy-boosting program. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase 1000 books to distribute to elementary school kids in Rainier Valley. The reason we are doing this is we know that there are lots of kids who go home to an apartment or house that has no books in it at all.

Even one book that is that child's only, or first book that they personally own is better than zero. We also know that generally, if a child isn't reading at 3rd grade level by 3rd grade, they are much more likely to drop out of school without finishing, much more likely to end up in jail.
