May 25 Program - Ruth Moen - "Keeping The Big Bad Wolf From The Door"
Ruth brings several stories from her experience as a trial lawyer to demonstrate how the "Four Way Test" might save a lot of trouble and expense in our litigious society. One of these is about a traveling executive, rear-ended in an accident, who didn't get appropriate treatment for his brain injuries and over the next 18 months experienced a collapse of his ability to do his work. Can the Four-Way Test reduce brain injuries? Of course not, but it would have been helpful if the police, the driver who struck him, the emergency-room physician, the owner of the trucking company whose truck struck him, and others had performed even the most basic test to try to determine the extent of his brain injury. Incidentally, Ruth will be handing-out a wallet card with a simple brain-trauma test on it - please put it in your glove-box.
