We've all heard the talk about the "stimulus bill", but what does this recent Act provide in real terms to business owners on Main Street? How is this Act stimulating banks to get money flowing again? Elizabeth Stevens, VP & Senior Loan Officer of Northwest Business Development Association, will offer us her insights on this and the crucial benefits of the SBA 504 loan program, and address your questions on banking in general.
This program is our inaugural meeting at Kallaloo, 3820 South Ferdinand in Columbia City. Our Tuesday meetings schedule:
Brook comes to our S.E. Seattle Alternative School (in Columbia City) from a background in adult and child counseling. She works as a Results Coach for 50 students. Her students are enrolled in the S.E. Seattle Alternative School because they are behind in credits/completion for their age, and they receive special coaching and support. Brook will describe this neighborhood program, and let us know why it matters.

Rainier Valley Economic Bootstrapping is an open meeting conference. Open meetings are a forum in which any participant can propose a topic, lead a discussion, gather others ideas and draw together others interested in pursuing action steps to move forward.
While no formal conference presentations are announced in advance, we encourage people to post ideas on this site's discussion board, or contact us with ideas. Here's what we have so far:
TOPIC: "Can The Economic Stimulus Package Save Your Business?"
Lani Lehman will take us through the colorful history of this cultural anchor in our community, tell us about the present, and the future. Bring your questions about how NWAAM got started, and what’s happening there soon. Should Rainier Valley Rotary follow-up on our $500 “Black History Month” grant with a social or fundraiser event at NAAM? How else can we get involved and support NWAAM?
